1. Problem-Solving When a Resident Falls
This chapter will provide an overview for the content of this course. It will explain why the reduction of falls in your organization is vital. It will also provide learning objectives for the course.
2. Introduction to the Four Steps to Problem Solving: Clues to the Cause of a Fall
There are four different steps for problem-solving after a resident falls. This chapter will review the first step: “look for and discover the clues, evidence, conditions that caused or contributed to the problem."
3. Problem-Solving: Determining the Causes of the Fall and Preventative Next Steps
This chapter will continue to review the steps of problem-solving. This chapter covers Step 2: “from these clues, determine the root causes or reasons for the problem,” and Step 3: “put interventions and actions into place that match the identified causes.”
4. Problem-Solving: Evaluation of Interventions and Course Summary
This chapter covers the final step of problem-solving: “evaluate whether or not interventions are working and getting the results you had hoped for.” This chapter also summarizes the course.
